The number-one drug that his buyers club distributed was bootleg ddC, a very similar drug to AZT. ddC was an unproven and experimental treatment at the time, but it was the best option available to people with AIDS. I believe that Woodroof would have been open to any treatment that could have helped his patients, regardless of its origins.
I hope that you will consider removing the denialism from the script. It is not an accurate representation of Woodroof’s character, and it does not reflect the reality of the AIDS crisis.
