Sid may be considered one of Toy Story’s greatest villains, but this kid may not be so bad after all. If there is one animated movie franchise that forever changed the history of cinema, it is definitely Toy Story. The Toy Story movies are not only entertaining and heartwarming, but they also tackle some pretty deep themes. One of those themes is the idea that people can change, even if they seem like they’re beyond hope.
Sid is introduced in the first Toy Story movie as Andy’s neighbor and quickly establishes himself as the antagonist. He is shown to be a bully who takes joy in destroying toys. When Andy’s toys come to life, Sid immediately tries to capture and torture them.
However, at the end of the movie, we see a change in Sid. He has a change of heart after seeing the error of his ways and Andy even gives him a toy truck as a peace offering. Sid is last seen riding off on his newly acquired skateboard, looking happy and content.
Whether or not Sid truly reformed is up for debate, but it’s clear that he at least made an effort to change. And that’s more than can be said for most people.
Woody is a cowboy doll who is Andy’s favorite toy. Andy grows up and goes to college, and Woody is left behind. Woody is sulking until he meets Bo Peep again and his love for her is rekindled. He realizes that his place once was with Andy, but that Andy is in college now.
