Asuka is a great character who is always there for her friends. In Girlfriend of Steel 2, she is there for Shinji after Mana’s death and in her ending, she comforts him. In Battle Orchestra, she is a playable character and more.
Rei, just discovering the idea she is human, is simple. She loves Shinji. Shinji has feelings for Rei, but he also has feelings for Asuka, and since he is fourteen the feelings he has for each of them are very, very strong but very, very different.
