– Global Running Day is a day when people around the world come together to celebrate running and inspire others with their stories of achievement, or simply by training for an upcoming event.
How is global Running Day celebrated?
The global running day is celebrated on the last Friday of May each year.
The global running day encourages people to get up and move, with a goal set at 150 minutes or more per week.
It also promotes physical activity for kids in schools all around the world.
– How is this celebrated?
Global Running Day is usually observed by conducting races such as fun runs, obstacle courses, road races etc., followed by celebrations and awards ceremony for winners! The best part about it – you don’t need any special gear or skills to participate in these events since they are open to everyone who wants their fitness levels checked out (and possibly improved). Having said that there will be some training sessions offered before the event so that participants can prepare themselves mentally and physically.
Is it a national or global running day?
It’s celebrating both!
Global Running Day is a day to celebrate and unite the global running community, but it’s also an opportunity for runners around the world to take part in their own national or regional event.
This year on June 28th we will be celebrating both at our “National Global Running Day Event” in Cape Town, South Africa – with over 20 000 people coming together from all corners of the globe. Our event features fun runs, kids races, endurance events, and entertainment performances by some of SA’s top artists such as Black Lace (featuring Wayne Brickz), Vusi Mahlasela Quartet + Friends, Dumza Ngxoli Zola Mankwe, and many more!
